This book was written in 1988, after the encounter of Voyager-2 with Uranus (January 1986) but before the encounter with Neptune (1989)

Perhaps the most unusual and mysterious planets in our Solar System are those found on it's outer fringe. Thanks to the Voyager 2 space craft we are now learning the secrets of Uranus- a large greenish - blue ball spinning nearly on its side, surrounded by coal black threads of rings- and Neptune, a equally large rocky mass with a huge satellite rotating in the "wrong" direction.
